New Visual Identity for SSI

New Visual Identity for SSI

We are excited to welcome you to our new website, featuring our new visual identity! In 2020-21, SSI partnered with Department of Art & Design to create new visual identity for the Sound Studies Institute, via Sue Colberg’s senior design course. During the winter term, each student in the class worked to create a new vision for SSI, and we are proud to announce the winning design by undergraduate student (and now alumi) Mikaela Yeo!

Black Talk

Black Talk

SSI is proud to have helped in the creation of the new podcast Black Talk, featuring guest interviews with U of A political scientist Andy Knight, the creator and co-host of the series. The podcast explores systematic racism, as well as celebrating Black achievement. It is available via the Black Talk website, as well as all the usual podcast aps. Thanks to SSI’s Tom Merklinger for his technical assistance.
